Raspberry Pi,designed by the UK seems to lead to new industrial revolution

Is the spectacular sign of new generation of industrial revolution like what UK have done 300 years ago? The cute and tiny toy-like computer, Raspberry Pi has been sold out, nearly over 1,000,000 units before its first anniversary in February, although the creators just dreamed that it might reach sales of 10,000. Perhaps, like Google, Eric Schmitz says in this interview this conception applied platform-based artefact seems to be very successful.  This UK made small and tiny, but open, hackable, educational, and adaptable artefact offer significant implications to us, which means that almost all artefact we use will be underway in this platform like artefacts, regardless of hardware and software. So far, we have never thought that such complex artefacts could be dominated by the public like us, but this open toy like computer not only gives us opportunities to expand our computing life, but also shift our old industrial perspectives that large firms have dominated all those market.  This will be perhaps achievable to reach the economics of scale in new generation of digital age. (please, explain this in economist view further). We can play even this complex computer like enjoying Lego brick and this type of computer will expand and make our life much affluent, by creating our artefacts for our necessities. How will the platform to be used be defined for those life, and what is the role of the company that used to focus on large size manufacturing?  Perhaps, for companies, those which are able to design most compatible platform with other artefacts(either hardware or software, or both two) will be the winner in the future artificial worlds, like Lego brick done.
